Ravers Review Direct from The Stompin Dance Floor

Pressurekru August 17th 2007

For far too long the North Devon drum and bass scene had lay
dormant. with almost no live events being staged. We were sick of travelling
miles for a rave and paying well over a tenner for a few hours of music, we
needed something closer to home! Along came Pressurekru. Creating a perfect
mix of big name DJ's and MC's with new up and coming talent, giving each
event its individuality. Finally someone had brought the life back to North
Devon! Thank you Pressurekru!!

With absolutely massive line-ups at each event the Pressurekru has built up
a huge reputation for giving us a stormer of a show at under £10! Having
such a good reputation puts immense pressure upon them to keep providing the quality nights. and they always deliver, tonight being no exception.

Last nights line-up was phenomenal. what more can be said?

Well the night started off with the lovely Elle B, but don't let appearances
fool you!! She may only be little, but my god she's a giant when she gets on
the decks!! Elle B is a force to be reckoned with, kicking off with a good
bit of breaks and setting the bar for the rest of the night.

Next to take the stage was another Pressurekru resident and always a crowd
pleaser, Mayhem, building the atmosphere to reveal some real deep and
furious groves, accompanied by Chally creating a serious groove, Chally
really does add a completely new aspect and level to the tunes being spun at
the time.

Now the night was definitely underway and every single person in there could
see it was going to be a stormer! DJ Klip hit the decks next accompanied by
Bensta and Fatman D! This really got the crowd stomping!

Next up was Drumsound, perfectly encapsulating so many aspects of drum and bass to create tunes that made the crowd go wild!! Freestyle and AJ played off each other so well and took the already amazing set even higher!

Now easily my favourite set of the night appeared Audio. A dark soldier,
playing some of the sickest tunes, as dark as you can imagine and with so
much energy, absolutely sick. some of the rhythms he used are completely
mind blowing, this man has a real feeling for the cutting edge of drum and
bass. He had literally just finished some of the tunes off of his
forthcoming release and played them for the first time last night, and f**k
did the crowd go absolutely wild!! It was the first time I had seen
Stapelton, and I must say I was impressed!!

Renton pushed out some thumping tunes accompanied by Nitro and Chally
showing some serious talent. could it get any better?

Then it was the turn of Spinna, he knows exactly what the crowd want, mixing
styles to create different atmospheres and crazy grooves, also did a mind
bending scratch session showing us exactly what he is capable of! Keep your
eye out for this one! We then saw exactly why MC Eksman has been voted
multiple times as best lyrical MC and best crowd hype. He delivers lyrics
with such speed, a verbal barrage if you like, still keeping full clarity
and control over his vocals, he is a master of crowd interaction and got
everyone involved!! Accompanied on stage by Nitro and later RSB also, these
boys are an amazing team, showing us that there truly is a new generation of
MC's emerging! This was the sort of set I would happily drive miles for!!
But it was right on my doorstep!!

Tonight really was one of the best nights of drum and bass I've ever heard
or been to, it has everything you want!! Cheap ticket price, drinks offers
and a truly amazing atmosphere, everyone in there was out to have a good
time and that is exactly what they got!! What a stormer!!!

Pressurekru thank you! Your hard work has paid off!! You have put Barnstaple on the map for drum and bass! Here's to many more!! Roll on the 12th of Oct!! Special thanks to all the DJ's and MC's involved ann Chally, Elle B
and Ironman for making it possible!

Pressurekru March 2nd 2007

Big up to everyone involved in making this night a success.
once again pressurekru are putting themselves on the map, by pulling a massive line-up, with stupidly cheap drinks at a f****ng ridiculous ticket price!!!

where to begin,

got in at about 10, it was already rammed, system was kicking out some serious bass, ironman was on the decks dropping some dirty tunes with mc chally warming the place up.

next up was dj klip with mc's bensta, ang, blade and deadlie. havent seen klip since westfest and hes definetly stepped up his game since then. first time ive seen bensta, ang, blade and deadlie live and i have to admit they were absolutely firing, its good to see some fresh talent coming through.

hazard stepped up to the turntables next for the midnight set with mc fearless b2b with eksman
and what can say, they tore the place up, barnstaple didnt know what theyd let themselves in for, it was the kind of set i'd drive miles to hope to see at a rave like random concept or one nation and it was right on my doorstep, FOR £5!!!!

then it was mikee p with eks, speach and toxic, massive massive set, speach, toxic and eks were fully going for it the whole time.

last but definetly not least was lenny dd with a stage full of mc's. the walls were shaking and the vibes were were running right til the last drop, my vodka red bull intake was getting the better of me by now but the crowd were still going 110% buck wild.

the big boy promoters better take note of the pressurekru, theyre music over money attitude is exactly what the scene needs, it just goes to show that a big line-up doesnt have to cost £20 a ticket.

cant wait for the next one in april, large up to all the pressurekru.

Pressurekru - December 15th 2006

Pressurekru stands head and shoulders above da rest with scorching and pure euphoric talent, they leave the crowd craving more, with tunes like no other. If you wanna dance with like minded people this is a nite u cant miss out on!!!

To kick start da nite with breaks to blow ur mind was ELLE B mixing da phatest tunes to perfection standing around wasn’t an option as da bass got harder da dance floor filled. Her music set da atmosphere and her talent did da rest, One little dj which ripped da place apart. Talent at its finest.

As MAYHEM  hit da decs it also hit da crowd his music was furious da dance floor was bouncing, with tunes that made your feet lose control and it was only da beginning. AWESOME!

LENNY DP B2B BP LAZER set da crowd into a frenzy bringing in tunes to blow u away as i stomped u could feel the djs playing off the crowd’s reaction, it was immense live talent.

VINYL RICHIE B2B RAWZ this was as dark as Drum’n’bass gets like nothing you’ve heard b4, with fresh new killer tunes my senses had left me and dark euphoria took over. Da crowd was so alive as every tune brought u on to another level when u thought u couldn’t go any higher they’d take u to da next, showing no mercy, they built da crowd up to 1 phat explosion. Every1 was here for 1 thing….to dance and they delivered 1 scorching set. A massive shout out to MC CHALLY you united the crowd.

DJ KLIP when it comes to dark, dirty and f@*#ing furious drum’n’bass this was 1 set not to be missed the dance floor was ripping at da seams, created the most intense atmosphere.

CHASE & STATUS kept the crowd stompin late into da nite with a set to blow da roof. MC RAGE who replaced MC FOXY kept da crowd and the dj connected.

A huge shout out to all da MC Chally,Nitro,RSB & Rage u guys were outstanding, you brought da crowd together and made us bounce higher.

With pressurekru predominantly becoming bigger, be part of da dance floor,  I f@*#ing love it.

Dec 15th......

Well peeps, they did it again. The pressure kru have officially made a name for themselves as one of the leading drum n bass nights in the south west. They kept an underground vibe from when they kick started with miss elle b on the decks good n proper girl!!!!!

Not every night, to a dj, means staring at a pair of decks and a crowd of bare chested lager louts- this was underground, but tight and tidy. But this is just the beginning folks... They have kicked things off with 2 major parties now in 2006, and they have lots in store for 2007. If your makin a new years eve resolution this year make sure its to be at the next night the pressure kru hold. Once again boasting a 20k sound system and a laser light show for your audio and visual pleasure.

Chase and Status were in full flow, the pounding bass line pleasing a range of people from liquid funk heads to lovers of heavier, old skool jungle influenced beats. Set of the night going to dj Kilp and mc Bensta. They absolutely blew the roof off!!! Respect going out to Lenny dd b2b Bp Laser, RSB and Nitro, fine display, hats off lads, u know how to please the crowd. Vinyl Richie rockin it a little earlier than last time but mate when you came on it felt like the earth was shattering! U were b2b with Renton of coarse who picked up nicely where you left of. Massive well done going out to all who organised, helped, and more importantly dj'd and mc'd, couldn't have been done without you.

A truely remarkable venture to keep the drum n bass scene alive in the south west has officially been pulled off. of coarse look out for the 2nd march... the journey continues........

Many thanks,

Just 2 Dirty.
